Immortal AI investigates what artificial intelligence changes for people, power and responsibility.

We follow evidence from the people affected to the companies, institutions, systems and decisions shaping the outcome. The goal is not to make AI frightening or comforting. It is to make consequences understandable and responsibility harder to avoid.

What we investigate

AI becomes a public-interest story when it changes who has power, who bears risk or who can be held accountable.

People & relationships

Companion AI, dependency, children, families, identity, imitation and the changing boundary between people and machines.

Work & decisions

Hiring, layoffs, surveillance, automated decisions and the use of AI in systems that affect opportunity and livelihood.

Power & infrastructure

Data centres, electricity, water, finance, ownership, subsidies and the communities carrying the physical costs of AI.

Responsibility & risk

Governance, safety, cybersecurity, privacy, regulation and what happens when responsibility becomes difficult to locate.

Truth, influence & abuse

Deepfakes, false identities, manipulation, AI-generated abuse and the systems that make deception easier to scale.

Help & safety

Practical, verified routes for people dealing with AI-enabled scams, image abuse, impersonation, sextortion and other harms.

How to read Immortal AI

Start with the evidence trail, not the strongest-sounding claim.

  1. Read the investigation. The article should explain what is established, what remains disputed and why the issue matters.
  2. Check the sourcing. Primary documents, regulators, court records, research and direct responses are preferred where available.
  3. Watch the uncertainty. Fact, estimate, claim and unknown are not treated as interchangeable.
  4. Follow developing cases. Material new evidence can reopen an approved or published investigation.
  5. Use Help & Safety when the issue is personal. Practical guidance is maintained separately and reviewed to a stricter safety standard.

Editorial accountability

Founder-led now. Designed to become more transparent as the publication grows.

Immortal AI is founded and edited by Andrew McDonald. AI may assist research, organisation, drafting and production, but it is not treated as evidence and does not hold editorial responsibility.

Material factual claims are checked against source material. Serious adverse claims should receive a fair opportunity for response where practical. Significant corrections are made transparently. As the publication matures, authorship, source records, archive structure and evidence tracking will become increasingly visible and systematic.
